On boot shaft size there are a few things to
remember. Firstly, loose or sagging boots look terrible. You do
however need to take into account what you will be wearing the boots with.
If you plan to wear them on bare legs with a skirt the shaft will need to be
marginally smaller than if your plan to wear them over trousers or jeans.
Secondly, boots that are tight look great when you first put them on but quickly
get ripples in them as they work down your leg while you are walking. They
can also be very difficult and uncomfortable to bend your knee in while sitting.
For boots to look good your leg needs a small amount of room in the boot such
that it will slide up and down on your leg as you walk and sit.
Depending on the height of the boot, we may require that you take from 1 to
10 measurements to allow us to complete your order. If an appropriate measuring tape is not available, you may use a piece of string and then lay it onto a rigid ruler to read the measurement. Note that all
10 measurements are to be taken barefooted with heel flat on a hard floor. If possible get a second person to help take your measurements. Note
that custom making boots cost an additional $140 AUD (approx $70 USD) on top of
the standard boot price.
Please note that our policy on custom boots is
that they are NOT returnable if they do not fit due to incorrect measuring or
size selection on your part. By ordering a custom pair of boots you agree
to be bound by this policy. All our boots are made to a medium "C" width
fitting.
