One of the most often asked questions I get is will my leg fit into a standard boot. After Dark Fashions sells both off the shelf boots and boots that we make in our factory. The off the shelf boots tend to be reasonably regular in size so you can use the table below to determine if the boot will fit you. Note that some boots are made larger and as such the product description will mention this. The boots we make in our factory are also made to set patterns depending on the foot size however we can custom make these if you desire. On boot shaft size there are a few things to remember. Firstly, loose or sagging boots look terrible. You do however need to take into account what you will be wearing the boots with. If you plan to wear them on bare legs with a skirt the shaft will need to be marginally smaller than if your plan to wear them over trousers or jeans. Secondly, boots that are tight look great when you first put them on but quickly get ripples in them as they work down your leg while you are walking. They can also be very difficult and uncomfortable to bend your knee in while sitting. For boots to look good your leg needs a small amount of room in the boot such that it will slide up and down on your leg as you walk and sit. To help you decide whether you will fit a standard boot or require a custom built pair I have put together the chart below. The dimensions indicated are the maximum leg measurements for that boot size without going to a custom build. To get a good fit and look I would recommend your measurements to be 1/8" - 1/2" (3mm - 13mm) smaller in the calf and 1/4" - 1" (3mm - 26mm) smaller in the thigh.
